Chase Briscoe fended off a last-lap surge from his teammate Christopher Bell to win the Bank of America 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The No. 19 car driver became the first racer to win consecutive races in the NASCAR postseason.

Briscoe's victory narrowed the gap between himself and NASCAR points leader Kyle Larson to 65 points.

Larson, Denny Hamlin, Bell and Briscoe left Charlotte as the top four drivers in the standings with four races left in the Chase.

NASCAR Cup Series Points Standings

  1. Kyle Larson - 2,367 points
  2. Denny Hamlin - 2,318
  3. Christopher Bell - 2,316
  4. Chase Briscoe - 2,302

Briscoe had a clear advantage at the front of the field for most of the closing stages of the race.

He took the lead on the race's final restart and appeared to be ready to cruise to victory.

However, Briscoe encountered lapped traffic on the final few laps, which allowed Bell to make a late push for the victory.

The pair of Joe Gibbs Racing teammates made contact with each other on the final lap and finished just a few car lengths apart.

Briscoe became the second driver to win multiple races in the NASCAR postseason. He also won last week at Las Vegas.

Larson, the current points leader, is the only other driver to win multiple races since the postseason began on September 6.

Larson still has a comfortable advantage over Hamlin, Bell and Briscoe in the points standings.

With four races left, Larson, Hamlin, Bell and Briscoe seem like the most likely options to capture the Chase title. There's 65 points between Larson in first and Briscoe in fourth. Ryan Blaney in fifth place is 85 points back of the points leader.

Next up for the Cup Series is a trip to Phoenix Raceway. Blaney was the race winner in Arizona back in March. Larson, Bell and Hamlin all finished in the top five in that race.

After Phoenix, the Cup Series finishes out at Talladega, Martinsville and Homestead-Miami.
