Becky Lynch's Secret Injury, WWE Rumors on Roman Reigns' Schedule and AEW vs. NXT Ratings
Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Rollins Reveals Lynch's Recent Injury
Seth Rollins divulged some previously unknown information Friday regarding an injury his wife, Becky Lynch, recently dealt with.
During an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Rollins said Lynch had a "little fracture in one of her vertebrae" that rendered her unable to wrestle for about six weeks.
That likely explains Becky's four-month absence from in-ring action, as she last had a match in June before returning to the ring against Liv Morgan last week on Raw.
Lynch did have some physicality prior to last week's match, though, as she aided Stephanie Vaquer in her rivalry with Morgan.
Rollins noted that he was "a little concerned" about Lynch's back and how it would hold up, but he added that "it seems like all is well."
Becky was in action Saturday night at Money in the Bank, facing Vaquer and Morgan in a Triple Threat match for the Women's World Championship.
Lynch did not come away with the title, as Morgan pinned Vaquer to win, but The Man performed well and appears to be in good health following her absence.
Reported Reason for Reigns' Heavy Schedule
Roman Reigns has essentially worked a full-time schedule since winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42, and that is reportedly by design.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), TKO requested that Reigns appear more regularly this year, and 2026 is expected to be The OTC's busiest year in quite some time.
Per Fightful, Reigns' schedule became a topic of conversation within WWE last week after the company announced his dates for October and November:
While Reigns' only advertised appearance for the remainder of October is the Oct. 19 episode of Raw, he is set for six appearances in November, including the Crown Jewel and Survivor Series premium live events.
In recent years, Reigns worked a part-time schedule and would be absent from WWE programming for extended periods of time.
Because of that, he has worked a limited number of televised matches, such as the seven bouts he had in 2025.
Reigns has already had that many matches thus far in 2026, and there are likely more to come, particularly in November.
After taking the world heavyweight title from CM Punk in the main event of WrestleMania 42, Reigns embarked on what has been a highly entertaining championship run with several excellent title defenses along the way.
Most recently, Reigns clashed with LA Knight at Money in the Bank on Saturday and weathered the proverbial storm to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Reported WWE, AEW Reaction to Head-to-Head Ratings
Both WWE and AEW were reportedly satisfied with their television ratings when they went head-to-head last Tuesday.
According to Fightful Select (h/t Mukherjee), people within AEW were encouraged by the fact that the Grand Slam France edition of Dynamite had better ratings than last year's episode under similar circumstances.
Meanwhile, WWE reportedly celebrated a victory internally since NXT averaged more viewers than Dynamite.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported last week that NXT averaged 532,000 viewers with a 0.10 rating in the 18-49-year-old demographic, while Dynamite averaged 495,000 viewers with a 0.11 rating in the key demo.
Per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, last year's episode of Dynamite that went head-to-head with NXT averaged just 321,000 viewers with a 0.07 rating.
AEW loaded up last Tuesday's show with Will Ospreay defending the AEW World Championship against Kazuchika Okada, Mercedes Moné defending the AEW Women's World Championship against Queen Aminata and Darby Allin defending the TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher.
WWE delivered a normal episode of NXT, headlined by Wren Sinclair winning a battle royal to determine the No. 1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship.
