Packers' Zaire Franklin Says Luther Burden 'Quit,' Blasts Bears WR for Comments Before Rivalry Game
Green Bay Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin had some strong words for Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III following the Packers' 31-7 home win on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Franklin said Burden has never done anything in the NFL and added, "He quit today. He didn't wanna play no more."
Franklin's comments were in reference to something Burden said in the days leading up to the game.
Last Monday, Burden discussed head coach Ben Johnson's message to the team ahead of a huge NFC North rivalry game against the Packers, telling reporters, "He wants to beat them really bad like everyone else in the room, like every Chicago fan. Beat them real bad, and make them quit."
Playing without starting quarterback Caleb Williams for a third straight game due to injury, the Bears couldn't get much of anything going offensively Sunday, as the Packers held them to 246 total yards.
With backups Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum both seeing some action in the game, Burden led the Bears with just four receptions for 47 yards.
Meanwhile, Franklin spearheaded the Packers' defensive attack, registering nine tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defended.
The Green Bay defense forced four turnovers, all of which were interceptions by Bagent and Keenum.
It was a massive win for the Packers, as it brought their record to 3-2, which is the same mark as the Bears.
Both teams trail the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings by two games for the NFC North lead.
