Marvin Harrison Jr., C.J. Stroud's Updated Texans Fantasy Outlook After WR's Trade from Cardinals

The mystery suitor for Marvin Harrison Jr. has been revealed.

According to multiple sources, the Arizona Cardinals traded the wideout to the Houston Texans on Sunday for a package that included a 2027 second-round pick.

From a fantasy perspective, it's very good news for both Harrison and C.J. Stroud, who were college teammates at Ohio State in the 2021-22 seasons.

The chemistry was apparent back then, with Harrison posting 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns during the 2022 campaign as a sophomore. With the Texans Harrison should be, in theory, the No. 2 option in the passing game behind Nico Collins.

Given that he seemed to be a much lower priority in Arizona's passing game than players like Trey McBride, Michael Wilson and even Kendrick Bourne, it's a huge boost to Harrison's fantasy upside. He's going from a player who was a candidate to be dropped altogether to someone you can potentially consider as a weekly flex (assuming he can conjure up that old magic with Stroud).

Speaking of Houston's quarterback, he's become incredibly difficult to trust from a fantasy perspective in recent seasons, but Collins, Harrison, tight end Dalton Schultz, Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel and Kayshon Boutte is a very nice collection of pass-catchers. And Stroud is on a nice two-game streak of fantasy viability, another feather in his cap.

He's now a high-end QB2 in one-quarterback formats with potential QB1 upside, and a must-start option in superflex leagues. His fantasy upside has been boosted in a major way.
