Let's take a look at everything that happened at this year's Bound for Glory PPV.
Ricky Sosa vs. Eddie Edwards
1 of 4The first match of the night saw Sosa take on what the announcers called his biggest opponent to date, Edwards.
At just 21 years old, Sosa is in a similar spot to where Slater was when he first joined TNA. If he can keep impressing officials, he will have a long career ahead of him.
The pace was quick whenever Sosa was in control, and whenever Edwards took over, it became a little more hard-hitting.
This was a decent match, but it felt more like it belonged on TV than on a PPV. This did not have the feel of taking place at the biggest show of the year for TNA.
Things picked up in the second half and made it a little more exciting, especially whenever Sosa took to the skies.
Sosa ended up taking out Alisha Edwards when she got involved, but that distraction allowed Eddie to gain the upper hand momentarily, but Sosa finished him off with a Headshot for the win.
Result: Sosa defeated Edwards
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
- Sosa got great elevation on his dropkick.
- TNA's smaller ring takes some getting used to if you are not familiar with it. You barely notice, but it just feels off somehow.
- Alisha Edwards does a good job being active in the match without distracting too much.
X-Division Title Scramble
2 of 4Aichner was out first for this Scramble match that went from six to seven competitors when Amazing Red revealed he would be involved during the TNA Hall of Fame ceremony.
The other competitors included BDE, Alexander, Navarro, Swann, Red and the younger Nemeth brother, Ryan. Most of these guys qualify as high-flyers, so we knew we were in for a show, but the inclusion of Nemeth and Aichner gave those guys a base.
As expected, this match was fast-paced right out of the gate. There wasn't a single moment when nothing was happening in or outside the ring. Not every spot was memorable, but they all added to the overall entertainment.
Swann was one of the standouts, which is not surprising given his skills, but even with seven people all vying for the crowd's attention, it never felt like it was too chaotic to follow what was happening.
After several close calls, Red ended up pinning Navarro to become the new X-Division champion. The newly inducted Hall of Famer looked elated when he was handed the belt.
Result: Amazing Red won
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
- Amazing Red still wrestling at this level in 2026 is awesome.
- Seeing Swann and Alexander together is always fun. It kind of makes us miss 205 Live.
- Nemeth trying to shake everyone's hand only to eat a superkick was a funny way to start the match.
- Red and Navarro had a nice sequence in the middle of the match.
- Even though it took way too long to set up, the six-man Tower of Doom spot was kind of cool.
Allie and Kiera Hogan vs. Shayna Baszler and Zoey Serrano
3 of 4Shayna Baszler made her TNA in-ring debut at Bound for Glory when she teamed with Serrano to take on Allie and Hogan for the Knockouts tag titles.
Hogan and Allie may have come into this as the champions, but they were also the underdogs in many ways. Baszler is known as a dangerous striker and submission artist, and Serrano is a powerhouse, so they bullied their opponents every chance they got.
This match had a steady pace, but it did feel like it moved a bit too slowly at times, especially when it took longer to set up a move than it should.
Baszler locked Allie in a choke and made her pass out to make her and Zoey the new Knockouts tag champs.
This match could have used a few more minutes and a couple of high spots, but having new champions is always nice. Baszler and Serrano work well together.
Result: Baszler and Serrano won the titles
Grade: C+
Notable Moments and Observations
- It's nice to see Baszler back in the ring. She was never properly used in WWE.
- In some ways, this was a WWE vs. AEW tag match when you look at where each woman came from before this.
- Allie's little tribute to The Butcher was nice.
Call Your Shot Gauntlet
4 of 4The Call Your Shot Gauntlet was up next. This match combines rules from a Battle Royal and standard Gauntlet match, so eliminations over the top rope happen until the final two competitors are left, and then they have a standard singles match to end it.
Here is the order of entry for the competitors:
- Trey Miguel
- Avery Styles
- Bear Bronson
- Frankie Kazarian
- Dutch
- LJ Cleary
- Gabby Forza
- Matthew Rehwoldt
- Heather by Elegance
- Vincent
- Harley Hudson
- AJ Francis
- Elijah
- M By Elegance
- Home Town Man
- Brian Myers
- Mr. Elegance
- Elayna Black
- Ben Bishop and Jada Stone
- Joe Alonzo
The biggest portion of this match resembled a Battle Royal, and it included all of the usual tropes of that kind of bout. The fact that it was intergender also led to some interesting moments.
There were plenty of entertaining moments, but most of the entrants never felt like they had a chance to win, so most of the time was spent waiting for the most obvious eliminations. Sadly, some of the moments meant to be comedic fell flat.
The final four were Kaz, Francis, Styles and Miguel. When it was just Kazarian and Miguel left, the singles match began. They put on a good show, but it wasn't quite enough to elevate the whole long match.
Kazarian ended up getting the win while they were trading pinning combinations.
Result: Kazarian won
Grade: C+
Notable Moments and Observations
- If Styles wants to make his own name, he should stop copying his dad's entrance right away.
- Styles jumped way too early for a dropkick.
- Dutch's one-armed slam on Styles looked good.
- Cleary hitting a poison rana on Bronson was a cool spot.
- Rehwoldt talking such a huge game as he was getting ready only to get tossed right out by Heather was kind of funny.
- Ben Bishop took out Jada Stone on his way to the ring.
