Ramirez broke the silence in the bottom of the fourth, launching a two-run homer that brought home Steven Kwan and gave the Guardians a 2-0 lead.

Chicago remained hitless until the sixth inning as Cleveland ace Williams dominated on the mound, racking up 12 strikeouts over 5.2 innings while allowing just one hit.

Williams was pulled in the sixth with the bases loaded and two outs, but Erik Sabrowski needed just five pitches to retire Munetaka Murakami and escape the inning unscathed.

This was not Williams' first head-turning performance this postseason. In Cleveland's 4-3 Game 2 loss to Chicago, he racked up 11 strikeouts over five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits.

The White Sox came up clutch defensively in the bottom of the eighth, escaping a bases-loaded jam with one out after intentionally walking Ramirez. Chase DeLauter grounded into a fielder's choice, with Petey Halpin getting thrown out at home, before Jo Adell grounded out to end the threat.

Cleveland was three outs away from the ALCS when closer Cade Smith took the mound and retired all three batters in order, sealing the win and punching the Guardians' ticket to the next round.
