NFL Icon Cris Carter Reveals Advice to Marvin Harrison Jr. Amid NFL Trade Rumors, Texans Links
Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter detailed the advice that he's given to wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. as he deals with his murky future as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.
"I'm constantly in text with Marvin since we talked the first preseason game in Canton," Carter said on the Inside Football podcast (0:19 mark). "So every week I'm sending him certain things. A lot of things that him and I are talking about this year involves self-talk. I said, 'Because you've got a lot of negative talk around you, you're gonna have to offset that and talk to yourself in a positive way and know that you are an elite player and you are a number one guy. You are gonna fulfill your potential. You are a Pro Bowl player. You have as much talent as anyone that's playing the position. You've proven that, you just have to continually prove it over and over again.'"

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday that the Cardinals were finalizing a trade involving Harrison, although his destination wasn't named.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz later reported the Houston Texans engaged in "deep negotiations" with Arizona regarding the receiver, but the Cardinals were still listening to offers from other teams.
Harrison has struggled to make an impact to start his 2026 campaign, as he's hauled in a mere five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown through four games.
The lack of production from the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft has been disappointing, especially after he caught 62 passes for 885 yards and eight scores as a rookie.
