Steelers React to Viral Pokemon Football Lineup Trend with Troy Polamalu Highlight Video

The Pittsburgh Steelers are using the viral trend involving creating football lineups out of Pokémon to reminisce about the career of Hall of Fame safety Troy Polamalu.

The Steelers' social media account responded Friday to a Pokémon lineup with a Polamalu highlight reel and the caption, "How Marowak moving at safety."

Drafted by Pittsburgh in 2003, Polamalu played all 12 seasons of his NFL career for the Steelers before retiring after the 2014 campaign.

He was inducted into both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Steelers Hall of Honor in 2020.

The Steelers' celebration of the best safety in their franchise's history comes amid depth issues with the team's current secondary. Pittsburgh recently traded Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys shortly before losing starting corner Jamel Dean to injury ahead of Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
