New Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Rumors Reveal Colts as Potential Landing Spot amid Latest NFL Buzz

The Indianapolis Colts have interest in trading for Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss and Stephen Holder.

"Sources told ESPN that the Cardinals are not shopping Harrison but other teams are still doing their due diligence on the third-year receiver. Those include the Colts, with a source telling ESPN that they would entertain the idea of trading for Harrison, the son of Marvin Harrison Sr., the Hall of Famer who owns multiple Indianapolis receiving records."

ESPN's Adam Schefter previously reported on the Colts' interest during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.

Harrison, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, was considered one of the best wideout prospects in recent memory when he left Ohio State. He was a two-time All-American and finished fourth in the 2023 Heisman Trophy race.

Harrison showed promise in his rookie season, amassing 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns. However, he suffered two heel injuries, appendicitis and a concussion in 2025 and missed five games. His numbers dipped in that injury-impacted year (41/608/4).

This year has not gone well for Harrison. He has just five catches, 85 yards and one touchdown on 12 targets through four games. To put his usage in perspective, Harrison is fifth on the team in targets and has just one more target than backup running back Tyler Allgeier.

A change of scenery might be best for the Cardinals and Harrison. He isn't being featured in the offense (in fairness, he hasn't performed well lately), and he probably has a better chance of finding another team that can bring out the potential he showed in Ohio State.

The Colts have reportedly thrown their hat in the ring publicly and privately. Harrison would return to the city where his father, Marvin Harrison Jr., starred for the Colts and went on to become a Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver.

Indianapolis also needs wideout help.

Alec Pierce is on injured reserve after suffering a re-aggravated left heel injury. He can return as soon as Oct. 25 against the Minnesota Vikings, but his timeline to get back to the field is unclear.

Keenan Allen is dealing with a groin injury that forced him to miss last Sunday (30-13 win vs. the Washington Commanders in London) and has him limited in practice this week. Ashton Dulin is out of practice this week with a groin injury.

Harrison could provide an immediate reinforcement for a position room hit hard by injuries. One can surmise he'd be a bigger focal point of the offense than he is in Arizona.

For now, Harrison remains a Cardinal, and he'll be on the field when Arizona hosts the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.
