Tony Romo Disqualified from Korn Ferry Golf Qualifying Tournament After Scorecard Mix-Up
Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's latest attempt to play on the Korn Ferry Tour reportedly ended in a disqualification.
Michael Bamberger of Golf.com reported Romo played in a Korn Ferry pre-qualifier tournament at the Club at Forest Ridge in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, earlier this month and was disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard following his third round.
He had an opportunity to finish in the top 37 of the 54-hole tournament and advance to the first stage of the Korn Ferry Q-School after a solid first and second round. While he was officially disqualified, he also didn't play well enough in the third round to advance had the scorecard been correct.

Romo played his third round with college golfer Ethan Smith and professional Brandon Rice.
The former Cowboys star signed for a score of 74, although Rice also kept his score and thought Romo scored a five on the 16th hole despite signing for a score of four, per Bamberger.
Bamberger noted PGA Tour rules official Rob Keller said a South Central PGA pro also said Romo shot a five on the 16th hole and the 17th hole even though he signed for a score of four on each of them.
Signing for a lower score than was actually shot results in a disqualification if it is not fixed within 15 minutes, even if it is an honest mistake. Keller explained to Bamberger that Romo took responsibility and was "very complimentary" of the event.
Perhaps most notably, neither score would have been good enough to advance.
Last week, CBS Sports and Romo mutually parted ways, ending his broadcast career with the company. Steve Megargee of the Associated Press reported on Sept. 1 that Romo pleaded no contest to a charge of operating while intoxicated after he was arrested in July.
