Jake Paul Cleared for Boxing Return After Injury, Gives New Fight Wish List Featuring McGregor, More

Jake Paul is medically cleared to return to the boxing ring, and he is eyeing some high-profile fights as a result.

Nakisa Bidarian, who is the co-founder of Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, took to social media Thursday and revealed the boxer was medically cleared following surgeries in December and February for the broken jaw he suffered during a December loss to Anthony Joshua:

On Wednesday, Paul posted a wish list of potential opponents that included Conor McGregor, Canelo Alvarez, Francis Ngannou, Deontay Wilder and Nate Diaz, among others:

That is quite the list of fighters, some of which would be an upgrade in competition level compared to a handful of Paul's previous fights.

Notably, it also included UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland.

Strickland suggested "scrapping with" Paul would be "fun" during a recent social media post and was on the boxer's radar as well:

ESPN's Brett Okamoto noted Paul told ESPN in April he was targeting a return to the ring by early 2027 and had resumed light training. He was not cleared to spar at that time, but that has changed following this latest development.

While Paul first became a household name as a YouTube star, he has found plenty of success in the boxing ring. He has a 12-2 record with seven knockouts and counts a victory over Diaz and Mike Tyson on his resume.

His first loss came against Tommy Fury in February 2023 before the Joshua defeat that saw him knocked out in the sixth round.

Joshua was in full control throughout the fight, as Paul initially showed a reluctance to fully engage. The 2012 Olympic gold medalist scored four knockdowns in the fifth and sixth rounds, though, and then completed his victory by leaving no doubt.
