Frank Sinatra's New York, New York blares over the sound system after every New York Yankees win at Yankee Stadium, but the Tampa Bay Rays made it their own celebratory tune on Wednesday night.

Following a 4-3 win over the Yankees in Game 3 of the American League Division Series, the Rays celebrated in their locker room by playing and singing along to New York, New York:

The win eliminated the Yanks from the playoffs and allowed the Rays to advance to the American League Championship Series for the third time in franchise history.

After taking the first two games of the series at home, the Rays traveled to New York in hopes of putting a bow on things.

That is exactly what they did on Wednesday, thanks largely to a two-run home run by Victor Mesa Jr. in the sixth inning to take a 4-2 lead.

The Rays also got the benefit of a huge call in the bottom of the sixth on a long drive to left field by Yankees infielder Anthony Volpe that was initially ruled a home run.

After review, it was determined that a fan reached too far over the wall to touch the ball, turning the hit from a game-tying, two-run shot to an RBI double.

The Yankees did not score again from that point forward, as relievers Griffin Jax, Cam Booser, Kevin Kelly and Bryan Baker shut the door the rest of the way for Tampa.

With the loss, New York fell short of the ALCS for the second straight year and third time in the past four seasons.

Meanwhile, the Rays will await the winner of the other ALDS between the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians, and they figure to be massive favorites to reach the World Series regardless of who their opponent is.
