Wednesday Recap
Atlanta struck first on Wednesday and the Braves looked like they would keep their season alive after Michael Harris II scored on a wild pitch by Tyler Glasnow to give his team a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
The Dodgers quickly responded in the top of the second, as a pair of errors from Sean Murphy and Mauricio Dubรณn allowed Ohtani to round the bases and tie the score at 1-1.
With the bases loaded and two outs, Andy Pages hit a single to give the Dodgers a 3-1 advantage.
Max Muncy eventually provided Los Angeles with some insurance in the top of the ninth inning, launching a solo home run to right field. It was enough to secure the 3-1 series lead.
In the other NLDS, the Brewers were simply too much for the Padres in all phases of the game.
Manny Machado did give San Diego a glimmer of hope with a potential game-tying home run in the 8th inning, but Garrett Mitchell robbed it at the wall to keep the score at 3-1:
The Padres never got another chance and were eliminated in the four-game series.
The Yankees didn't even get a win in their series, suffering a sweep at the hands of the Rays.
Victor Mesa Jr. gave Tampa the lead with a sixth-inning two-run home run. Anthony Volpe seemingly tied it in the bottom of the inning, but a fan interference call kept the Rays ahead:
Tampa held on to complete the three-game sweep over New York and advance to the ALCS to face either the Cleveland Guardians or Chicago White Sox.
