Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson revealed that he's in a "real good" place with his ankle injury and is hopeful to suit up against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.

"That's definitely the plan," Jefferson said Wednesday, per Lewis. "Being back at home, in Louisiana, is something I want to do."

He previously suffered a sprained ankle during Minnesota's 23-16 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3, which forced him to miss the team's Week 4 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.

On Wednesday, Jefferson returned to practice on a limited basis.

The 27-year-old should be able to provide a boost to Minnesota's offense once he's able to return, as he's surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first six seasons. He earned four Pro Bowl nods, two First Team All-Pro honors and an Offensive Player of the Year award over that span.

In Jefferson's first three appearances this season, he reeled in 13 catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns.

The Vikings are one of just three NFL teams that are currently sitting at 4-0, but their offensive output has lagged behind their defensive production.

Minnesota has averaged a mere 262.8 yards per game, ranking No. 31 among all teams. The Vikings have also recorded just total seven touchdowns, tied for the third-lowest mark in the NFL.

Minnesota will attempt to get on track offensively against a Saints squad that owns the league's worst scoring defense, giving up 32.0 points on a weekly basis.

As for Jefferson, the Louisiana native will also have an opportunity to face off against his hometown team if he's able to play.

The Vikings and Saints are set to face off on Sunday, with kickoff at 1 p.m. ET.
