New Jayden Daniels Rumors Update Injury Status for Commanders vs. Giants After Elbow Dislocation
After suffering a dislocated left elbow in Week 2, Washington Commanders star quarterback Jayden Daniels reportedly could have the chance to return for the team's Week 5 matchup against the New York Giants on Sunday.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler provided an optimistic update on Daniels' recovery from his second left elbow dislocation in the last year.
"The outlook for the Commanders' Jayden Daniels potentially playing this week against the Giants is positive," Fowler stated. "The key, I'm told, is having him in practice in full. Limited participation likely won't be enough. If he's a full go in practice by, say, Friday, he'll get the green light."
Daniels traveled with the Commanders for their Week 4 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL London Game, but he was ultimately ruled out after being limited in practice all week.
Marcus Mariota, who started last week's game, is sidelined after suffering a sprained MCL against the Colts. Rookie Athan Kaliakmanis entered in his place and would start on Sunday if Daniels isn't cleared.
If Daniels can get through practice this week, though, he could be under center when the Commanders (1-3) take on the NFC East-leading Giants (3-1) on Sunday.
