The Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets are bringing vintage looks to the 2026 Heritage Classic.

The Canadiens and Jets revealed a first look Wednesday at the uniforms that will be worn during their upcoming outdoor game at Winnipeg's Princess Auto Stadium.

The puck will drop for the 2026 Heritage Classic Sunday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. ET.

The Canadiens uniform features a redrawn "CH" crest made of felt as well as off-white stripes inspired by the franchise's vintage uniforms, according to the NHL.

The jerseys also feature the club's nickname of "Les Habitants" stitched for the first time in franchise history inside the back collar, per the league. The loop label also features a fleur-de-lis in honor of Quรฉbec.

The Jets are using a similar crest to the one featured on the team's current navy blue alternate uniforms.

This version of the crest, which is felted and on a white jersey, is designed in honor of the logo the team wore during its original iteration from 1979 before relocating to Phoenix in 1996.

Players have regularly worn the team's current military-inspired fighter jet logo since the Atlanta Thrashers returned to Winnipeg in 2011.

This marks the third time the Jets have played an outdoor game, and the first since their 2019 Heritage Classic matchup against the Calgary Flames in Regina.

The Canadiens are heading into their fifth outdoor matchup and their first since playing the 2017 NHL100 Classic against the Ottawa Senators in Ottawa.

The NHL first debuted the Heritage Classic with a 2003 matchup between the Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Temperatures that day were around zero degrees Fahrenheit, according to the league.

The Habs and Jets will be expected more moderate temperatures when playing later this month at the home of the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Weather Channel predicts an average temperature of around 46 degrees on game day in Winnipeg.
