Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe and All Elite Wrestling.

Where Things Reportedly Stand Between Sheamus, AEW

Despite interest, AEW reportedly hasn't made a significant push to sign longtime WWE Superstar Sheamus in free agency yet.

According to Fightful Wrestling, some "big veteran names" within AEW have pushed for the company to sign Sheamus, but there have not been any "substantial talks" between the two sides to this point.

It was initially reported in July by Fightful Select (h/t Geno Mrosko of Cageside Seats) that Sheamus would be departing WWE at the expiration of his contract after rejecting an offer by WWE to restructure his deal.

More recently, Fightful Select (h/t Fightful's Ishaan Sharma) reported that The Celtic Warrior officially became a free agent on Oct. 1.

That means Sheamus is clear to negotiate a contract with any company, including AEW.

The reported internal push to sign Sheamus in AEW doesn't come as a huge surprise since many key members on the roster worked with him previously in WWE, including Claudio Castagnoli, The New Level, Jon Moxley and a host of others.

Although Sheamus is 48 years of age, he looked to have plenty left in the tank when he was last seen in the ring last year.

On top of that, his résumé speaks for itself as a multi-time world champion, and he would undoubtedly bring additional credibility to the AEW roster.

WWE's Reported View on Enzo and Cass Reunion

Despite their success as a tag team once upon a time, WWE reportedly did not originally have designs on reuniting Big Cass and Enzo Amore.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), he heard talk of Enzo's return being a "done deal" at one point, but the working idea was that he and Cass would be kept separated.

Meltzer mentioned NXT as a potential destination for Enzo, whereas Cass has been part of the Raw roster since his return in August.

Per Meltzer, the idea of keeping Enzo and Cass apart had to do with WWE not wanting to limit Cass' upside, but now with Cass losing singles matches recently, he theorized that an Enzo and Cass reunion could be possible.

Cass' WWE return saw him target Je'Von Evans with attacks before beating Evans in his return match on the Aug. 24 episode of Raw.

However, Evans later beat Cass and Austin Theory in a Money in the Bank qualifying match on Sept. 21, and one week later, Cass surprisingly lost a singles bout to Dragon Lee via rollup.

This week on Raw, Cass got some revenge by attacking Lee and his tag team partner, Rey Mysterio, leading to speculation that Enzo could possibly return and join forces with Cass as part of a tag team rivalry.

While it remains to be seen if that is actually the direction WWE is moving in, there is no question that Enzo and Cass were a hugely entertaining pairing in the past.

They were among the most popular acts in NXT, and although they didn't stay together long after getting called up to WWE's main roster in 2016, they were over with the fans during that stint as well.

It is fair to wonder how Enzo and Cass would work as a heel tandem rather than babyfaces, but it may be worth it for WWE to explore it.

Latest on 2027 Elimination Chamber Location

The Elimination Chamber premium live event has often been held outside the United States in recent years, but that reportedly may not be the case when it comes to the 2027 edition.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), rumors suggest Elimination Chamber 2027 will take place in the U.S.

Elimination Chamber 2026 represented the show's return to the United States, as the previous four versions of the show were international.

In 2022, Elimination Chamber was in Saudi Arabia, followed by Montreal in 2023, Australia in 2024 and Toronto in 2025.

Given that it occurs on the road to WrestleMania, some hugely newsworthy things have happened at Elimination Chamber over the past few years, including John Cena's shocking heel turn in 2025.

Regardless of where it is hosted, Elimination Chamber figures to be a massive show once again in 2027, as it will likely determine the challengers for two major championships at WrestleMania 43 based on who wins the men's and women's Elimination Chamber matches.
