Yankees' Errors Trolled With Taylor Swift Reference in Newspaper Headline After MLB Playoffs Loss
The New York Post didn't pull any punches Tuesday when it came to addressing the New York Yankees' error-filled loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Monday night.
Tuesday's back-page headline read, "Errors Tour," which referenced the Yanks' many defensive mistakes, as well as pop star Taylor Swift's popular Eras Tour, which took place from 2023 to 2024:

Yankees Sloppy in Game 2 Loss 😬
In a 5-2 loss to the Rays on Monday, the Yankees had as many errors as hits with four each. Those errors led directly to three of the Rays' five runs.
Second baseman Jazz Chisholm's throwing error in the first inning allowed a run to score, and after shortstop George Lombard Jr.'s throwing error in the fifth, Rays second baseman Richie Palacios delivered a two-run single in the next at-bat.
The Yankees were shut out 1-0 in Game 1 of the ALDS, managing only one hit against Rays ace Drew Rasmussen.
New York was not much better offensively in Game 2 with only four hits, two of which were solo home runs by star slugger Ben Rice.
The defense was an even bigger issue for the Yanks in Game 2, though, as the Rays reached base and scored runs multiple times despite soft contact against Yankees ace and likely AL Cy Young Award winner Cam Schlittler.
Now, the Bronx Bombers' backs are against the wall, as they trail the ALDS 2-0 and are on the brink of elimination.
New York found itself in a similar situation in last year's ALDS against the Toronto Blue Jays, and although it won Game 3 at home to extend the series, it fell in Game 4.
The Yankees will look to do better this time around, but they will need victories in Games 3 and 4 at home in order to send the series back to St. Petersburg, Florida, for a decisive Game 5.
