Matthew Stafford Called Best QB, 'As Good Mahomes or Better,' by NFL Exec After Rams Win vs. Eagles
After leading the Los Angeles Rams to a comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford still has the respect of the rest of the league.
The Athletic's Mike Sando spoke to an executive from another team who declared that Stafford is still outperforming the rest of the NFL.
"Still feel good about them," the exec said. "They have the best player in the league at quarterback — when (Matthew) Stafford is on, he's as good as (Patrick) Mahomes or better. They haven't had a game with the two defenders (Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett) full speed yet. And their defense still looks pretty good."
A week after blowing a 16-point lead in a loss to the Denver Broncos, Stafford helped the Rams overcome a 10-point second-half deficit by leading two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter. The 38-year-old completed 32 of his 51 passes for 317 yards in the victory.
At 2-2, the Rams have not looked like the juggernaut many expected them to be, but they still have enough talent to remain among the top contenders in the NFC.
Stafford and the Rams will face another tough test when they host the Buffalo Bills (3-1) on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
