Report: Chiefs Contact Hill's Agent
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the fifth-year pass-catcher dislocated his ankle. While a recovery timeline isn't yet known, an injury this serious is likely to rule him out for most or all of the remaining season.
Thornton was in the midst of a career day. Prior to exiting, he had five receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
"His attitude is unbelievable," coach Andy Reid said of Thornton, per ESPN's Nate Taylor. "He's great for the team and kind of a leader of that [receivers] group. For that to happen, especially with the year he's having, he's had a phenomenal year to this point, it's a tough one to see for all of the guys."
Thornton signed a two-year, $11 million contract with Kansas City, so he'll have the opportunity to rebuild his on-field value in 2027 before he hits free agency again.
