Aaron Glenn Reacts to 'Relief' of Jets Snapping Historic INT Streak vs. Bears
Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets finally got a monkey off their back during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
The Jets hadn't recorded an interception since the final game of the 2024 campaign, but Minkah Fitzpatrick snapped the 20-game streak against the Bears, intercepting a pass from Tyson Bagent in the second quarter.
"I think it would be a relief to hear you guys stop talking about it, first and foremost," Glenn told reporters after the game. "But, listen, I really don't talk to our guys about it too much, you know. The thing that we talk about more is just making sure that we go after the ball, making sure that we punch the ball out, making sure that we emphasis that takeaways are a huge part when it comes to winning and losing in this league."
The streak-ending interception was about the only thing that went well for the Jets' defense in the 23-12 loss. New York allowed 492 total yards to the Bears, including 146 yards and two scores from running back Kyle Monangai.
The Jets can at least head into the week knowing an ugly streak of no interceptions is no longer plaguing them.
