Tee Higgins Injury, Latest on Bengals WR's Status and Return Timeline Amid Ja'Marr Chase Concussion

Sunday was not a good day for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Not only did the team lose 22-17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Ja'Marr Chase was ruled out after suffering a concussion and Zac Taylor told reporters after the game that Tee Higgins has an adductor injury.

Higgins missed much of the fourth quarter with his injury issue after catching 11 passes for 157 yards in the loss.

Higgins suffered the injury while making a toe-tapping catch alongside the sideline in the fourth quarter. He also left the game on the previous drive with an apparent injury.

The Bengals have now lost two straight games after a promising start to the 2026 season, and injuries to the starring receiver pair is another major concern. The schedule eases the difficulty a bit with a trip to face the Miami Dolphins next week, but the absence of either Chase or Higginsโ€”or worse, bothโ€”makes any matchup more daunting.

The Bengals were also without Colbie Young (inactive, knee) and Andrei Iosivas (injured reserve, thumb) on Sunday, leaving them perilously thin at receiver. Dohnte Meyers might be the team's top option in the passing game next week if the Bengals don't get healthier at the position.

As for Higgins, the 27-year-old has been fantastic to start this season, catching 25 passes for 401 yards and a touchdown through four games. Injuries have been an issue for him in the past, however, costing him 12 games in the previous three seasons.

The Bengals will be hoping he doesn't add to that tally following Sunday's adductor issue.
