Tank Bigsby and Top Fantasy Waiver-Wire RB Targets After Saquon Barkley's Hamstring Injury

The Philadelphia Eagles and fantasy football managers alike are going to be scrambling for production following Saquon Barkley's injury.

The Eagles announced Barkley was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams with a hamstring injury. With that in mind, here is a look at some potential waiver-wire running backs fantasy managers could target following the star's setback:

  • Tank Bigsby, PHI
  • Will Shipley, PHI
  • Brian Robinson Jr., ATL

Bigsby is the obvious target.

As long as Barkley is out, he will be the go-to back for the Eagles. And with opposing defenses having to account for Jalen Hurts and the aerial attack and no longer stacking the box like they would against Barkley, it could lead to plenty of opportunities for the Auburn product.

He saw plenty of action in the team's Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans with 13 carries, one of which he took to the end zone for a touchdown.

Barkley was sidelined for extended stretches in that game, and Philadelphia did not hesitate to give Bigsby the ball.

That game also highlighted Shipley's value as a deep-league pick up if Barkley is out. He had seven carries and two catches against the Titans and also tallied a reception in games against the Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears.

If Bigsby is the primary back, Shipley could be a change-of-pace option and someone Hurts targets on third downs in the passing game.

Elsewhere, Robinson is arguably the best fantasy handcuff in the league.

While Bijan Robinsin is the clear-cut go-to guy for the Atlanta Falcons, they have not hesitated to give Brian Robinson the ball as well. The latter reached the 50-yard mark on the ground against the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers. He also scored against the Packers.

Robinson has 30 carries through three games even while sharing the backfield with Bijan Robinson. If the starter was sidelined for any amount of time, the backup would be a must-start for fantasy purposes.

He is even worth consideration at this point from his No. 2 role.
