Colts Beat Commanders, Box Score Stats, Highlights for JT, Daniel Jones, Kaliakmanis, Top Players
The Indianapolis Colts have seemingly put their 0-2 start in the rearview mirror.
Indianapolis defeated the Washington Commanders 30-13 on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. It improved to 2-2 with a second straight win, while the Commanders fell to 1-3 after they were forced to turn to seventh-round draft pick Athan Kaliakmanis under center following Marcus Mariota's knee injury.
Jayden Daniels was already out, and the third-stringer was unable to counter multiple touchdowns from star Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, who made NFL history by accumulating the most rushing yards and touchdowns in international games.

The Commanders were already facing an uphill battle coming into the game with Daniels (elbow) and Terry McLaurin (hamstring) sidelined by injuries. Things went from bad to worse in the first quarter when Mariota suffered the injury on a sack.
Enter the rookie from Rutgers in Kaliakmanis, who struggled handling some of the initial pressure from the Indianapolis defense. The last thing Washington could afford with a third-string quarterback in the game was self-inflicted mistakes, but that was a key theme of the first half.
It turned the ball over on downs inside its own territory while holding a 6-0 lead and then committed an unnecessary roughness penalty on a failed Colts' third-down attempt on the ensuing possession. That kept things alive for Indianapolis, and it took full advantage of the mistake when Taylor scored the game's first touchdown.
Daniel Jones also settled in some on the drive after a horrible start that saw him lose a fumble on the game's first possession and throw an ugly interception to Rasul Douglas.
But the Jones roller coaster was nothing compared to the Kaliakmanis one in the second half.
It seemed like the game was slipping away from the third-stringer when he started the second half by throwing an interception to Jaylon Carlies that the Colts turned into another Taylor touchdown.
However, he responded with a stunning 47-yard touchdown pass to Treylon Burks before another deep ball to Dyami Brown on the next possession. He wasn't hesitant to unleash deep balls and was getting more comfortable, but a big sack ended the scoring threat after the Brown completion.
Kaliakmanis also connected with Antonio Williams for an 87-yard touchdown where the wide receiver did most of the work, but it was nullified by penalty.
The overturned touchdown ended up being Washington's final realistic chance of keeping pace, as the Colts marched 52 yards on nine plays for a touchdown on the ensuing possession to open a two-score lead. This time it was Jones who ran it in, and he also directed a field-goal drive in the fourth quarter after Kaliakmanis turned it over on downs.
It was a valiant effort at times for Kaliakmanis, but it wasn't enough to leave London with the win ahead of the upcoming showdown with the rival New York Giants.
As for the Colts, they return home and host the Pittsburgh Steelers as they look to sustain their momentum.
