Having introduced the "Hail Raiser" helmet as part of their uniform rotation for this season, the Washington Commanders could look to make it a permanent part of their look.

According to The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala, the Commanders are hoping to make the look featuring a "W" and a spear passing through it "more prevalent and possibly even its primary logo" at some point in the future.

Commanders managing partner Josh Harris told reporters on Saturday while wearing a hat with the spear logo that fans are "enjoying what we are doing" and they were "going to keep looking at what how we keep doing that."

"I like the spear," Harris added. "I mean, what can I say? It brings everything together a little bit. … And, obviously, we had it on our helmet way back."

Jhabvala noted the decision about changing the logo is "far from final" due in part to potential legal and financial hurdles, but the "goal" would be to have it implemented for the start of the 2027 season if it goes through.

The Commanders unveiled the logo in April as part of their all-black alternate uniform for the 2026 season.

Washington originally used a spear logo on the sides of its helmets for five seasons from 1965 to '69. The design returned for two seasons in 2002 and 2003 as part of its alternate uniforms.

Since adopting the Commanders nickname prior to the 2022 season, the club has used the bold "W" in burgundy and gold as its primary logo.
