San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans has been impressed with quarterback Brock Purdy's hot start to the 2026 season.

On Friday, Evans told reporters that Purdy is playing at "the highest level that you can play."

"Looking forward to him to keep doing that," Evans said. "He's worked extremely hard and he's a really great player."

The 49ers have opened the year with a 3-0 record, boasting a high-powered offense that ranks No. 2 in the NFL with an average of 32.7 points per game.

Purdy has thrived throughout San Francisco's first three contests, completing 72.3 percent of his passes for 789 yards while averaging 9.5 yards per attempt. He's also tossed nine touchdowns compared to one interception.

The 26-year-old owns a 133.1 passer rating this season, representing the No. 1 mark among all starting quarterbacks.

Purdy has quickly developed chemistry with Evans, who's in the mist of his first season in San Francisco following his 12-year tenure on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Evans earned six Pro Bowl nods and won a Super Bowl title in Tampa Bay, spending three seasons catching passes from Tom Brady.

This year, the veteran wideout has hauled in 12 receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns through three appearances. Purdy owns a 139.8 passer rating when targeting Evans, according to Pro Football Focus.

The 49ers will try to improve to 4-0 when they face the Denver Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
