Aaron Judge Says Knicks Inspired Yankees in Viral Video Celebrating Win vs. Red Sox in MLB Playoffs
After watching the New York Knicks bring an NBA championship to the city over the summer, the New York Yankees are trying to keep the good vibes going following their sweep of the Boston Red Sox in the AL Wild Card series.
Yankees star Aaron Judge told reporters during the locker room celebration after Wednesday's 9-2 victory over Boston they are taking inspiration from the Knicks' playoff run.
Judge's status for the ALDS is still up in the air after he missed the Red Sox series due to a calf injury.
The Yankees did have a Knicks-esque level of dominance in this series by outscoring the Red Sox 18-2 in the two games. The Knicks' average margin of victory of 14.9 points per game in the NBA playoffs was the second-highest mark ever.
Next up for the Yankees in their quest for a World Series title is an ALDS showdown with the Tampa Bay Rays. Game 1 will be played at Tropicana Field on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
