
Taco Bell 50k Ultramarathon Rules, Details Announced for Viral Race in Colorado
Runners who love Taco Bell and ultramarathons could combine both in an upcoming competition in Colorado.
The ninth edition of the International Taco Bell 50k Ultramarathon is set to taje place Saturday in Denver, according to race organizers.
The 31-mile race, which is not sponsored or endorsed by Taco Bell, takes participants past 11 branches of the fast food franchise.

Participants are required to eat during at least ten of the 11 stops, with mandatory menu items including either a Chalupa Supreme or Crunchwrap Supreme as well as a Burrito Supreme or Nachos Bell Grande.
The course must be completed in under 11 hours, and dietary aids including Pepto, Alka Sellzter and Mylanta are not allowed during the run, according to organizers.
The race also features two additional levels in the Diablo Challenge, in which participants are encouraged to "slather all items with Diablo sauce and do a Diablo shooter at the end," and the Baja Blast challenge, in which runners have to drink two liters of the soda without vomiting.
Race organizers note on the race's sign-up page "it is a good idea to engage in gastric training" before participation.
The race, which begins at 7:30 a.m. local time Sunday in Denver, has popped up in similar interactions across the United States. East Coast runners looking to join in on the experience could participate in a similar 50k the day after Thanksgiving in Washington, D.C.
