Jared Goff Says Ben Johnson Called Him to Clarify Joke Made at His Expense in New Video

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff isn't sweating Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson's slight barb.

After the former Lions offensive coordinator told reporters that he's used to calling plays for "not so mobile" quarterbacks thanks to his time with Goff, he apparently had so much remorse that he called his former signal-caller to rectify the situation.

"Ben can't seem to get out of his own way when talking to the media, so I know there was no ill intent behind that," Goff said with a smile on the St. Brown Podcast. "... It's funny, he called me this morning and was like, 'Dude, you know that means nothing.' I'm like, 'Yeah, dude, you're good. Don't worry about it."

Goff and the Lions won't face Johnson's Bears until Week 12 this season, so there will be a lot of time for the two sides to throw some friendly fire back and forth before then.
