Odell Beckham Jr.'s Top Potential NFL Landing Spots After Giants Release

Wide receiver-needy teams were given a new option to consider Tuesday in the form of Odell Beckham Jr.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Beckham and the Giants mutually agreed to part ways Tuesday after OBJ did not record a catch and drew only one target over the season's first three games.

It is unclear how much Beckham has left in the tank, but teams dealing with injuries at wide receiver such as the Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers stand out as potential landing spots.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams present perhaps the most natural fit for Beckham since he already has experience with the organization.

L.A. acquired Beckham in a trade with the Cleveland Browns during the 2021 season, and he went on to play a huge role for the team down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Beckham had 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns in eight regular-season games with the Rams, and 21 grabs for 288 yards and two touchdowns in four postseason contests.

That included two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals. Beckham left that game with a torn ACL, but the Rams still went on to win the Super Bowl.

Puka Nacua has missed the Rams past two games with a groin injury, and although head coach Sean McVay told reporters that the Rams are targeting a Week 4 return, nothing is guaranteed.

Without Nacua, quarterback Matthew Stafford has leaned heavily on Davante Adams at wide receiver, and Konata Mumpfield is the only other wideout on the roster to make much of an impact.

The Rams could use some depth at the position, and Beckham's familiarity with McVay and his offensive system could potentially make him an option.

Las Vegas Raiders

There is no bigger surprise in the NFL this season than the Raiders, who are off to a 3-0 start after picking first overall in the 2026 NFL draft.

Kirk Cousins has been a stabilizing force at quarterback for the Raiders, and he has performed well despite getting little production out of the wide receiver position.

Tight end Brock Bowers did most of the pass-catching work during Vegas' Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, and running back Ashton Jeanty has gotten a ton of work as a runner and pass-catcher as well.

As far as wideouts go, Tre Tucker leads the group in receptions (11) and receiving yards (189), while scoring one touchdown.

No other Raiders wide receiver has more than five catches or 52 yards through three games.

On top of that, second-year wideout Jack Bech suffered a broken forearm in the win over New Orleans and will be placed on injured reserve, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

With that, the Raiders' receiving corps is lacking both in terms of depth and talent, so bringing in an experienced wideout like Beckham could go a long way toward at least elevating the floor of the group.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers won the NFC South last season, and although they are only off to a 1-2 start this season, they are still tied for the lead in their division.

On top of that, quarterback Bryce Young is off to the best start of his young career with an NFL-leading 939 passing yards to go along with seven touchdowns and two interceptions.

Wide receivers Jalen Coker and Tetairoa McMillan have provided Young with some solid production, but Coker left Sunday's road loss to the Cleveland Browns with a quad strain.

According to Rapoport, the strain is considered minor and Coker is questionable to play in Week 4, but this is already the second different injury he has dealt with this season.

The Panthers do not have a wide receiver outside of McMillan and Coker with more than four catches or 83 yards, so depth is a need regardless of Coker's health status.

Beckham could potentially play the role that veterans such as Adam Thielen and Hunter Renfrow did for the Panthers in recent years.

Carolina doesn't have that kind of veteran receiver on the roster this season, so Beckham checks some of the boxes that are currently unaddressed.
