Cowboys' Jake Ferguson Fined by NFL For 'Imitation of Shotgunning a Beer' vs. Commanders

The NFL's crackdown on celebrations that are perceived to be pantomiming the consumption of alcohol continued Friday.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the NFL announced that it fined Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson $13,611 for his "imitation of shotgunning a beer" after scoring a touchdown in the team's 37-20 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 2:

The league noted that the celebration "constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably could be construed as being in poor taste."

Ferguson's fine comes after the NFL fined San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 on Thursday for an "imitation of chugging a beer" during the Niners' 35-13 Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins.
