Saquon Barkley Injury Update, Latest Rumors on Eagles RB's Status for Week 3 vs. Bears

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley expects to play in the team's matchup with the Chicago Bears on Monday after suffering a stinger in Week 2, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also reported that Barkley received "good MRI results," as he was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

The three-time Pro Bowler sustained the injury early in Philadelphia's 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, briefly entering the Eagles' locker room.

Barkley later returned, although he finished with just four carries for nine yards in the victory.

He was on the field for a mere 12 snaps in the contest, the third-most among Eagles running backs.

"I'm alright. ...We'll know more later in the week," Barkley said after the game, per Zach Berman of The Athletic.

Philadelphia has opened its 2026 campaign with a 2-0 record, although Barkley hasn't been as productive compared to past seasons.

The former Offensive Player of the Year racked up 3,145 rush yards and 24 total touchdowns from 2024-25, but has only amassed 92 yards on the ground though two appearances in 2026. Barkley also hasn't found the end zone this season.

Still, the 29-year-old remains a crucial piece of the Eagles' offense and should provide a boost to the team if he's able to suit up against Chicago.

The Bears have allowed 122 rushing yards per game to open their 2026 campaign, ranking No. 23 among all teams.
