White Sox SS Colson Montgomery on Wrong Side of MLB History After Tying Strikeout Record

Chicago White Sox shortstop Colson Montgomery is on the verge of achieving MLB history, but not in a good way.

During Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals, Montgomery struck out in his second at-bat, tying Mark Reynolds' single-season MLB record of 223 strikeouts.

Montgomery entered Thursday's game batting .202, but he's been a solid contributor with 31 home runs and 87 RBI. However, an abysmal recent run put him in some dubious company:
