Watch Sophie Cunningham Launch Signed Ball into Stands in Viral Video, 'Call Me Patrick Mahomes'

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham compared herself to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes after throwing a signed mini basketball deep into the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

"Call me Patrick Mahomes from here on out," Cunningham wrote in a Wednesday post on X.

The Fever played their final home game of the 2026 WNBA regular season on Tuesday, wrapping up a 96-77 win over the Minnesota Lynx.

Cunningham has appeared in 43 games for Indiana this year, averaging 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 22.4 minutes per game. She's shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point territory.

Cunningham has connected on 63 triples during her 2026 campaign, tied for the second-most among all bench players.

The Fever are currently preparing for the playoffs, sitting at No. 5 in the WNBA standings with a 28-15 record.

As for Mahomes, the three-time Super Bowl champion has completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 566 yards and five touchdowns compared to just one interception in two appearances this season.
