Deshaun Watson Says He Doesn't Want to Feud With Browns Fans in Video Ahead of Home Opener

Deshaun Watson got into it with Cleveland Browns fans before the season started, but he's hoping to be on good terms with the fanbase as the team plays its first home game of the season.

"I never try to go at war with the fans, and the biggest thing is, just ready for support, ready to feel that energy, ready to get this big dub for the city of Cleveland and continue this great feeling we have this week," Watson told reporters on Wednesday. "That's my motto."

Watson received boos from Browns fans during a preseason game last month, and he called out fans for being "disrespctful" afterwards.

"I think the whole world knows it has nothing to do about the performance," Watson said after the game. "It's a little bit [more] personal than that. So I think it's a disrespectful thing. So yeah, I mean, I'm going to keep whatever I feel with me and my family internally on how I feel about that. And yeah, just move on."

Watson perhaps made up for his comments with a strong performance in a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The veteran quarterback threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
