Olivia Miles Injury, Latest on Star's Status for Lynx vs. Caitlin Clark, Fever Before WNBA Playoffs

The Minnesota Lynx announced rookie guard Olivia Miles will miss Tuesday's game against the Indiana Fever with a calf injury.

She had originally been listed as questionable before the team downgraded her to out.

Miles is the runaway favorite for Rookie of the Year and could wind up the runner-up for MVP. She has averaged 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 40 appearances, and she broke Caitlin Clark's single-season scoring record for a rookie.

According to WNBA.com, the Lynx have been 6.3 points per 100 possessions worse when Miles is off the court.

Assuming the 5'10" playmaker is back in the lineup after Tuesday, her injury shouldn't be a major setback for Minnesota.

The Lynx are one game up on the Golden State Valkyries for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs with two games to play. They have the head-to-head tiebreaker on Golden State as well after having won their season series 3-1.

Cheryl Reeve's squad should be able to maintain its position in the standings when the dust settles.

The Fever likewise have something to play for Tuesday night and in Thursday's rematch with Minnesota. They're 1.5 games back of the fourth-place Atlanta Dream and have a one-game cushion on the Washington Mystics in sixth.

Indiana needs to at least split this home-and-home, and Miles' injury boosts its chances of pulling off an upset Tuesday.
