The end of the WNBA's regular season is just a few days away, and with playoff seeding still very much on the line, each game this week is critical.

The Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever's matchup on Tuesday carried plenty of implications.

The Lynx could have clinched the top seed in the WNBA with a win, and it also would have helped the Las Vegas Aces secure a top-four seed and home-court advantage. Additionally, a Fever loss would have given the Atlanta Dream a top-four seed.

But Caitlin Clark and the Fever played spoiler, beating the Lynx 96-77.

The Lynx, Valkyries, Aces and Dream can all still secure a top-four seed and home-court advantage, but it will have to happen later this week.

For Minnesota, securing the top seed would have meant it could rest its starters against the Fever on Thursday. The Lynx can still get the top seed on Tuesday if Golden State loses to the Portland Fire, but they might instead have to bring their best in their regular-season finale.

Having home-court advantage in playoff series is paramount, especially when the playoff field is as close as this year's group is. While a team like Minnesota had a strong regular season, the gap between it and a bottom-four seed isn't that big.

A Lynx win on Tuesday would have made things a lot easier for several teams, but the loss sets up an exciting next few days.
