Simone Biles' Husband Jonathan Owens Reveals Reaction to 'Mr. Biles' Remarks by Social Media Trolls

Indianapolis Colts defensive back Jonathan Owens isn't offended when people make jokes that he is less recognizable than his wife, Simone Biles.

In fact, he sees it as a sign of respect.

"I take it as respect," he said, per Candace Buckner of The Athletic. "You see who my wife is. Says a lot about me as well. Like, my confidence, and who I am as a person that she chose to be with me. It's respect, because as a man in this field, (one of the) things they judge you on is who is your significant other. That says a lot about your confidence."

Buckner noted Owens has his social-media notifications turned off, so he likely isn't going to see any jokes calling him Mr. Biles even if fans are making them.

Owens has reached the highest level of his sport during a career that features stops with the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears and now Colts. He even posted 125 tackles during the 2022 campaign with the Texans and returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown in 2023 with Green Bay.

However, he isn't on the level of Biles.

And that is because only a select few athletes in any sport have ever come close to reaching her level.

Biles is widely considered the greatest gymnast in history and even has a number of official moves named after her. Her resume includes seven Olympic gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals.

She competed in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 Games and captured three golds in the most recent ones in Paris.

Owens may be more recognizable because of his wife's accomplishments than his own, but that says far more about her gymnastics career than it does his football one.
