Taylor Swift Credited for Helping Travis Kelce Have Strong Start by Chiefs' Andy Reid

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid believes Taylor Swift is leading by example to some degree in her marriage to NFL star Travis Kelce.

Reid cited the work Swift put in during The Eras Tour, spanning the globe with shows lasting more than three hours. He quipped the musician "kicks [Kelce] in the butt a little bit there, too."

Kelce's production ticked downward over the previous three seasons as he got deeper into his 30s. Excluding his rookie year in 2013, when he logged just one appearance, his 50.1 yards per contest in 2025 were a career low.

The 6'5", 250-pound pass-catcher was slowing down as all the mileage physically added up.

The 11-time Pro Bowler looks rejuvenated to start the current campaign, though. He has 12 receptions for 172 yards and a touchdown.

The Chiefs appeared to be entering a transitional period with franchise quarterback Patrick Mahomes coming back from a torn ACL. A 6-11 finish pointed to deficiencies across the roster as well, ones that Mahomes alone couldn't cover by himself.

It seemed like a good time for Kelce to hang up the cleats and pivot to life after football. Instead, he certainly thought he had something left in the tank, and the first two weeks are vindicating that confidence.
