Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua Fight Details Confirmed, Location, Date for Netflix Bout Revealed

The highly anticipated heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is official.

After Chris McKenna of The Athletic reported the bout was in the works for Dec. 11, Ring Magazine officially announced on Thursday that Fury and Joshua will square off on Dec. 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff with Netflix broadcasting the event.

One potentially interesting note is there was no start time listed, which has been a topic of discussion when the fight was being rumored.

ESPN's James Dielhenn reported that Matchroom's Eddie Hearn, who represents Joshua, "all but confirmed the dream fight is close to being agreed" upon for the Dec. 11 date. To maximize the worldwide audience on Netflix, Hearn added that the fight will start later than usual, but not as late as some fans fear.

"People talk about a 3 a.m. BST [10 p.m. ET] fight? I don't think you'll see the fight that late," Hearn said. "But obviously there had to be conversations with the stadium about what's possible and what is not possible. That's probably a reason for the delay [of the official announcement] -- to make sure everything is boxed off with the council to have a slightly later start time."

Fury and Joshua signed contracts in April to face each other later this year, but months of contentious negotiations created concerns over whether their long-awaited fight would ever come to fruition. It sounds like things are moving in the right direction, as Hearn indicated that he and Joshua are satisfied with the current plans.

"Over the past week or two, we made our decision. AJ was the guy leading that decision," Hearn said. "We weren't interested in accepting extra money or changing the terms of the agreement to change the location. He wanted to make sure the fight was in the UK. Since then, they have accepted that. We are working together and speaking to Netflix to lock in the date. I think the date is locked in."

Fury has rebounded following his back-to-back losses against Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. The 38-year-old defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach earlier this year, bringing his career record to 36-2-1.

Since dropping the IBF heavyweight title to Daniel Dubois, Joshua has scored knockout wins over Jake Paul and Kristian Prenga. He is 30-4 with 27 knockouts in 34 career fights.
