NASCAR Cup Playoffs Point Standings and Updated Schedule After 2026 Bristol Results

Joey Logano stormed past a trio of cars with eight laps to go to claim a spot in Victory Lane at the Bristol Night Race.

The No. 22 driver moved himself past Ty Gibbs, Carson Hocevar and Kyle Larson to pick up a surprise victory.

The victory allowed Logano to move within 16 points of first place in the NASCAR Chase point standings.

Larson overtook Denny Hamlin by a single point after the third race of the postseason.

Logano won the race to the checkered flag after a chaotic final stage under the lights at Bristol.

Gibbs and Hocevar, two of the younger stars in the sport, got too aggressive with each other on the final restart.

Larson tried to take advantage of the fight for the lead with a move on the top line, but it was Logano's move on the bottom line that turned out to be the winning move.

The wild ending shook up the top of the Chase standings. Larson moved ahead of Hamlin by one point. That's the first time the points lead has changed hands through three Chase races.

Logano zoomed up to third place, just 16 points back of Larson.

Logano wasn't the only driver to make headlines, though, as Hocevar and Ryan Blaney got into a fight on the pit lane after the race. Blaney approached Hocevar because the No. 77 car driver wrecked him.

The Blaney-Hocevar beef, as well as the fight for the title, will move on next week to Kansas Speedway.

Kansas is the fourth race on the Chase calendar. The postseason features 10 races, with the final one taking place at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 8.
