NFL's Oldest and Youngest Rosters Revealed After Week 1 Games, Full Team-By-Team Breakdown
The San Francisco 49ers are starting off the 2026 season as the oldest team in the NFL.
The Niners' Week 1 roster boasted a league-high average age of around 27 and a half years old, according to the NFL.
That's more than two years older than the average age of the Miami Dolphins, which ranked as the NFL's youngest roster in Week 1.

The Dolphins came in at the low end of the average age rankings in large part of their NFL-high rookie class of 15 first-year players including first-round pick Kadyn Proctor.
The Los Angeles Rams, which rank as one of the NFL's oldest teams, are in contrast beginning the campaign with a veteran roster featuring just three rookies.
The Pittsburgh Steelers lead the NFL in players aged 30 or older with 12 players on their roster, including starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, fitting the bill.
The NFL's average age sits right around 26 and a half years old to begin the season, according to the league.
Week 2 kicks off Thursday night with a matchup between two rosters sitting right around that league average in the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. Both teams are looking to start the season 2-0 after kicking off at 8:15 p.m. ET at Highmark Stadium.
