Week 2 NFL Picks and Early Odds to Exploit after Final 2026 Week 1 Results

Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season is now a part of history. Though it was filled with surprises, wild finishes, and unexpected results, fans probably won't remember much about Week 1 when the postseason begins in February.

For now, though, the opening schedule is fresh and is likely to impact how oddsmakers and bettors approach Week 2. The trick, of course, is to take what we've seen over the past week with a grain of salt.

Week 1 is always a bit wacky. Last year, you may remember, the Las Vegas Raiders knocked off the New England Patriots. The Raiders landed the No. 1 pick in the draft, while the Patriots reached the Super Bowl.

Let's take a look at the early odds from FanDuel Sportsbook and find some odds that can be exploited.

Packers -4.5 at Jets

The Green Bay Packers blew it on the road against the rival Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. There's no other way to put it. Green Bay out-gained Minnesota by 180 yards and had a 12-point lead in the third quarter before floundering things way with offensive miscues in the final frame.

The Packers are highly unlikely to play the same mistake-filled style of play against the New York Jets in Week 2.

Are the Jets better than most expected? Perhaps. They rolled the Tennessee Titans 23-10 in their road opener, but it's worth noting that Tennessee appeared to be extremely underprepared. New York also seemed to run the ball at will against the Titans, which it is unlikely to do against the Packers.

The Packers may not run away with this game on the road, but they'll be motivated to put Week 1 behind them and get back in the NFC North race. As long as Jordan Love can protect the ball on Sunday, Green Bay should escape with a touchdown victory.

Eagles -7 at Titans

If we're being blunt—and we obviously are—the only team that looked less prepared for a meaningful football game than Tennessee in Week 1 was the Cleveland Browns. Tennessee's defense coughed up more than 350 yards of offense, while Cam Ward led a passing attack that yielded just 127 yards.

The game showed that Ward, while talented, is still early in his development.

"This young man is at the floor of what it takes to be an NFL quarterback, but he has all the tools," head coach Robert Saleh told reporters after the game.

Ward may eventually develop into a plus starter, but it's unlikely to happen by Sunday. Expect him and the Titans to struggle mightily against the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

Philly outlasted the Washington Commanders despite some early hiccups by the offense and new coordinator Sean Mannion. The Eagles defense wasn't great, but it should rebound in Tennessee. Saquon Barkley, meanwhile, should feast against a defense that just surrendered 152 yards on the ground.

Commanders and Cowboys Over 50.5 Total Points

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott

Well, it turns out that the Dallas Cowboys' offseason investment in their defense isn't going to pay immediate dividends after all. The new-look unit played just as poorly as last year's defense during Sunday night's 28-20 loss to the New York Giants.

This is part of the reason to like the over in total points in Dallas' Week 2 matchup with the Washington Commanders. The other reason is the fact that the Cowboys' high-powered offense seemed to be just a bit off on Sunday night.

Missed timing between Dak Prescott and his receivers, along with untimely drops, prevented Dallas from engaging in a scoring race with the Giants. If things are just a bit crisper this week, we could see the Cowboys double their points total.

While Washington's defense looked formidable in stretches, it was one of the league's worst units in 2025 and benefited from some Philadelphia miscues. Don't expect much shut-down defense from either team in this matchup, but do expect Prescott and Jayden Daniels to produce an offensive spectacle.
