Jalen Hurts Talks Eagles' Desire to Improve After Win vs. Jayden Daniels, Commanders in Week 1

The Philadelphia Eagles started their season with a 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders, but Jalen Hurts is far from satisfied with the Week 1 win.

After the game, Hurts explained why the Eagles are "hungry to improve."

"We're all also hungry to prove, continue to push forward in the same direction," Hurts said. "And obviously, coach is going to have some things that he wants back. I'm gonna have some throws that I want back. Gonna have some times where, 'Hey, we gotta line up quicker, we need to get down, get set and we gotta come back to the huddle and be urgent.' So, I think for us, and I say it all the time, urgency isn't an option... We're pushing for excellence in everything we do."

Hurts was solid in the season opener as he threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns, but he could have been more efficient as he completed just 14 of his 25 pass attempts.

On defense, the Eagles got to Jayden Daniels just one time for a sack, so they'll be looking to bring more pressure next week.

Philadelphia still has plenty of players on its roster who won a Super Bowl in 2024, and they know that you can't be satisfied with a Week 1 win. Hurts and company will look to continue improving week by week as they march toward the playoffs.
