Arch Manning, Dante Moore, 2027 NFL Draft QB Class Ranked by NFL Execs, Scouts in Poll

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was the most popular answer given after ESPN's Pete Thamel asked 25 NFL scouts and executives the following question: "Who will be the top quarterback taken in the upcoming draft?"

Texas quarterback Arch Manning finished second in the poll, which was released on Saturday:

• Oregon QB Dante Moore: 14
• Texas QB Arch Manning: 7
• South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers: 2
• LSU QB Sam Leavitt: 1
• Notre Dame QB CJ Carr: 1

After last season, Moore was largely seen as a potential No. 2 overall pick to the New York Jets. However, Moore decided to return to Oregon for 2026, and that can certainly pay off if a QB-needy team gets the No. 1 pick.

Moore impressed in his first game this year, completing 28-of-37 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-27 win over Boise State.

Most of the people Thamel spoke with believe Moore is No. 1 right now. However, a long season awaits, and multiple candidates will stake their claims.

Manning is certainly a candidate to be QB1 and has been for some time. He began his second year as Texas' starter by completing 20-of-27 passes for 305 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in a 59-7 win over Texas State.

One person not mentioned in the poll is the first quarterback taken in the B/R NFL Scouting Department mock draft, published on Sept. 7.

That draft has four quarterbacks going in the first round: Miami QB Darian Mensah (No. 2 to the Arizona Cardinals), Manning (No. 3 to the New York Jets), Moore (No. 4 to the Cleveland Browns) and Carr (No. 8 to the Atlanta Falcons).

Mensah has been on fire through two games, completing 41-of-45 passes for 653 yards and eight touchdowns in wins over Stanford (45-6) and Florida A&M (77-7).

Carr began the year with a 19-of-29 effort for 239 yards and two scores against Wisconsin in a 41-13 victory at Lambeau Field.
