49ers vs. Rams Updated Odds, Money Line, Spread, Props to Watch for TNF

The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams do battle on Thursday night in the most unique season opener either franchise has ever experienced.

The NFC West rivals face off in Melbourne, Australia. The game will be played on Friday morning in Australia.

Much has been made about the strategies of each team in terms of getting to Australia. San Francisco made the trip last week, while Los Angeles traveled 48 hours before kickoff.

No one is sure if the travel difference will make much of a difference, but one thing is for sure, this should be a tight battle in which both teams need to start their seasons right.

The Rams are easier to forecast from a betting perspective because of their known quantities on offense.

The 49ers have a little bit of unknown to parts of their offense, which might be where bettors take advantage of some player prop bets.

Spread: Los Angeles (-3.5)

Over/Under: 48.5

Money Line: San Francisco (+176; bet $100 to win $176); Los Angeles (-210; bet $210 to win $100)

Both teams were strong against the spread in 2025. The Rams were 14-6 ATS, while the 49ers were 13-6.

The NFC West sides split their regular-season series last year. The 49ers won outright as an underdog in their win, while the Rams covered as a six-point favorite in their victory.

Both meetings last season went over. The first game had a total of 43.5, while the second game had an Over/Under of 49.5.

Rams Props to Watch

Kyren Williams Over 55.5 Rushing Yards

Kyren Williams was consistent in both of his meetings with the 49ers in 2025.

The Rams running back recorded 65 and 73 in the pair of divisional clashes. Both of those totals were recorded on 14 carries.

Williams is once again expected to receive a good amount of carries inside the Rams offense, which is why his Week 1 rushing-yard prop looks enticing.

Williams recorded at least 50 rushing yards in all but one game last season. He failed to make it over 55 rushing yards on just three occasions.

The 49ers defense is formidable, but Williams proved last season he can chip away at that unit.

Matthew Stafford Over 23.5 Completions

Matthew Stafford went 24-for-36 and 30-for-47 against San Francisco a year ago.

He averaged 22.8 completions per game in the regular season. The importance on his accuracy is heightened in a divisional contest, so you'd think he gets over his projected mark on completions.

Stafford has the two best receivers in the contest in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. He also has a versatile tight end room to work with, led by Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee.

Stafford has had no problem spreading the ball around inside the Rams offense, and he'll have the chance to do that to kick off the season in Melbourne.

Christian McCaffrey Over 107.5 Rushing & Receiving Yards

The 49ers offense carries more unknowns than the Rams' unit.

Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle are not officially on the injury report, but there are questions about their usage and health in Week 1.

Christian McCaffrey is the constant in the 49ers offense. It's easy just to take his props instead of risking it with the passing attack.

McCaffrey had 66 and 82 receiving yards in the two meetings with the Rams last season. He also ran for 87 yards in the two games.

A high usage rate is expected out of the 49ers' star running back, and with questions elsewhere, it's easy to go after his combined yards prop.

De'Zhaun Stribling Over 2.5 Receptions & Over 34.5 Receiving Yards

Rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling has the potential to be the breakout star in Thursday's game.

The rookie out of Ole Miss had a strong preseason. That could carry over into Week 1.

He may not lead the 49ers in any receiving category, but he can be a useful depth piece for Brock Purdy to look to.

The Rams will put more time into covering Evans, Samuel, Kittle and McCaffrey, so there should be some open spaces for the rookie to work in.

A three-catch, 35-yard game might not pop in the box score, but it would cash both of his receiving props.

He's the only offensive player on either side who you can justify taking a risk on with so many well-known players across the offensive skill positions.
