Watch A.J. Brown's 1st Catch as Patriot in Trending Video vs. Seahawks After Eagles Trade

New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown made his first catch with his new team on Wednesday, when the Pats visited the Seattle Seahawks to open the 2026 NFL season.

Pats quarterback Drake Maye found the Patriots' new No. 1 wideout with about 3:20 left in the first quarter. Brown caught a pass just beyond the line of scrimmage and turned upfield for a seven-yard gain.

The Patriots acquired Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler with six 1,000-yard seasons, last June from the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2027 fifth-round draft choice and a 2028 first-round draft pick.
