Bad Bunny Wins Emmy for NFL Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show After 9 Nominations

Bad Bunny dazzled audiences during his halftime show of this past season's Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, and he took home plenty of hardware as a result.

Jazz Tangcay of Variety reported Saturday that Bad Bunny won his first Emmy for the performance in the category of outstanding variety special (live).

The halftime show ended up winning in seven different categories, including music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork and directing. Jay-Z also won an Emmy as the executive producer.

Jay-Z's Roc Nation has helped choose the Super Bowl halftime performer since partnering with the NFL in 2020.

According to Paul Grein of Billboard, the Bad Bunny show became the second Super Bowl halftime performance to win the top program Emmy. The first came four years ago when the show starring a collection of superstars in Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent won.

Bad Bunny's show also surpassed that 2022 one as the most-awarded Super Bowl halftime performance in Emmy history. The one featuring Dr. Dre and Co. won three.

It was not the first time Bad Bunny took the Super Bowl stage, as he also was a guest performer in 2020 when he joined Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.

Yet he was center stage during this past Super Bowl and put on a memorable performance that included appearances by Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Ricky Martin, Pedro Pascal, Karol G and many more.
