Lewis Hamilton Arrives to F1 Italian Grand Prix in Iconic Ferrari F40 in Trending Video, Photos

Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton set the tone for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix with a show-stealing arrival on Thursday.

Hamilton pulled up in his iconic Ferrari F40 to kick off media day ahead of this weekend's race at Autodromo Nazionale Monza:

On Monday, ESPN's Laurence Edmondson reported that Hamilton took ownership of a Ferrari F40 road car "after it sat dormant in a garage for over 30 years." After joining Ferrari 18 months ago, the seven-time champion reportedly had been "waiting for the perfect F40 to invest in and appears to have found a rare low-mileage example."

The Ferrari F40 is a rare commodity, as only 1,315 were produced between 1987 and 1996. Edmondson noted that the vehicle has been "known to gather prices in excess of $8 million at auction, but values vary based on condition, mileage and specification."

Hamilton has earned only one win in 12 starts this season, but he will certainly be hoping his fashionable arrival gives him some extra juice when he takes to the track this weekend in Italy.
