Odell Beckham Jr. Reacts to Making Giants Roster in Emotional Video, Hints at Number Change

Making the roster for the New York Giants is a full-circle moment for Odell Beckham Jr.

It was also an emotional one. 

"I had tears when I got back to the hotel and realized I was going to be here," he told reporters Monday after remaining on the team past Sunday's roster cut deadline. He also said he "definitely had that moment where it was like, you could let out some of the pain that I feel like I went through."

What's more, the wide receiver revealed he will have "conversations" about potentially being No. 13:

Whether Beckham would make the roster was one of the more notable storylines of training camp and the preseason for the Giants.

After all, there was a time when he was one of the best players in the organization after New York selected him with the No. 12 overall pick of the 2014 NFL draft. He was the Offensive Rookie of the Year in his first season and made the Pro Bowl in each of his first three.

He surpassed 1,300 receiving yards in each of those three seasons as well.

Beckham has since bounced around to the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins and most notably helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl title during the 2021 campaign.

However, he also suffered a torn ACL during that Super Bowl win, missed the 2022 season and played just nine games in 2024. He didn't play in 2025, although he made it clear he wasn't retiring.

There will be no retirement ahead of the 2026 season, as the 33-year-old made the roster of the team he is most closely associated with from earlier in his career.

With Malik Nabers, Darnell Mooney and Malachi Fields also on the roster, Beckham won't be the primary focal point of the aerial attack like he was during his first stint with the Giants. But that also means he could face more favorable matchups with opposing defenses focused on the other options.

And that could lead to a solid season for the veteran.
